Ford India head meets CM over upcoming Sanand plant

Ford Motors is setting up a manufacturing facility at the cost of $ 1 billion.

The senior management of automobile manufacturer Ford India, led by the company’s newly appointed president Nigel Harris, met Chief Minister Anandi Patel in Gandhinagar on Thursday.

They appraised her of the progress made in the company’s upcoming car manufacturing unit in Sanand. Ford Motors is setting up a manufacturing facility at the cost of $ 1 billion. The facility, located near the Tata Motor’s Nano factory, is expected to be commissioned by this year-end.

At the meeting, the Ford Motors officials had expressed interest in adopting angandwadis located near their upcoming plant in Sanand.

The officials were also keen on starting a hospital and providing health facilities at primary health centres situated close to the plant, an official release from the state government stated.
