Residents near Chartoda graveyard heard a deafening noise when the chopper crash-landed.
Ghulam Mohammed Ansari,a resident of Pujari Chawl was working on his computer when he heard the sound. First,I heard a loud noise like that of a big truck passing nearby at a high-speed and the next moment walls and floor of my house began vibrating and the noise became ear-splitting. I rushed out and was dumbstruck seeing a chopper grazing the compound wall of the ESIC Hospital No 24,which is next to my house, he said.
Ansari said the chopper was flying so low that its rotor blades had cut through a neem tree in the hospital compound.
Its blade was damaged and it lost balance . The pilot used his presence of mind and landed it in the Chartoda graveyard. Thankfully, there was no burial going on at that time and the helicopter not only landed in the muddy ground and its wheel stuck there … soon three people ejected safely, including the pilot, he said.
Several locals gathered in no time. Facing the sky,all were chasing it wildly, guessing about its landing point, said Mubeen,a resident of Baqarshah Rauza across the graveyard.
