In a first, a three-day national conclave for business women is being jointly organised by the business women’s wing of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) and the Indian Merchant’s Chamber, Mumbai (IMC) in Ahmedabad next week. The ‘Vibrant Gujarat Business Women – National Conclave’ which begins on the 18th December will see 3000 women participants come together at the Gujarat University Convention Hall.
Both the business wings will also be looking to tie-up to host the second edition of this national conclave in Maharashtra in 2016. An exhibition that is part of the conclave will have 100 stalls by women entrepreneurs and will be flagged off by spiritual guru Morari Bapu and noted Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon.
“We are expecting women entrepreneurs taking part at the conclave to get single window clearance for the various women-friendly schemes and subsidies in the industrial policies with the presence of government officers from both national and state government bodies at the event like KVIC( Khadi and Village Industries Commission), MSME(Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises), District Industries Centre and NSIC(National Small Industries Corporation). The project cost for hosting this event has gone beyond Rs 1 crore, while the “Swayam Sidhdha” awards that will be presented at the event have been sponsored by the World Trade Centre-GIFT city. We are also looking for tie-ups with the incubation center at GIFT and also with higher government departments of the Gujarat Government for facilitation, training and skill development of the women participants at the event, ” said Grishma Trivedi, Chairperson, BWW(Business Women Wing) of GCCI.
In a press meet on Friday, Trivedi added that despite being a national conclave, there was only a small group from other states with a large representation from Gujarat. Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel is expected to release a coffee table book titled ‘Rising 100 Star Women Entrepreneurs of Gujarat’ on the 19th while state Governor OP Kohli will give away 14 “Swayam Sidhdha” awards recognizing achievers in categories like manufacturing, trading & service sector, rural sector, special and lifetime achievements at the national level and youth Icon next Sunday.
Several key highlights of the national conclave include a B2B, B2C and B2G (Business to Government) meetings, an entrepreneur corner, a business clinic, workshops, technical sessions on Smart women Smart economy, Make in India, Digital India and a round table of women leaders on gender diversity and equality and a fashion show promoting Khadi.
