Family of man declared brain dead donates his organs
After suffering a brain stroke at work on May 22, the man was rushed to CIMS Hospital in Ahmedabad.
As he was declared brain dead, his kidneys, liver, heart, and eyes were retrieved for donation following the family's consent. (Representational Image) The family members of a 33-year-old man from Bhuj in Kutch, who was declared brain dead on Wednesday after a brain stroke, decided to donate six of his organs.
After suffering a brain stroke at work on May 22, the man was rushed to CIMS Hospital in Ahmedabad.

As he was declared brain dead, his kidneys, liver, heart, and eyes were retrieved for donation following the family’s consent.
The kidneys were transplanted immediately, according to Dr. Siddharth Mavani, Director of Nephrology and Kidney Transplant at the hospital.
About 10 per cent of the Indian population suffers from chronic kidney disease, which is alarming, he added.
