Once a bitter critic of Chief Minister Narendra Modi, former education minister Nalin Bhatt on Saturday joined the BJP which he had quit in 2006 in protest against Modis dictatorial attitude.
Welcoming Bhatt back to the party fold here on Saturday,BJPs national vice-president Purshottam Ruapala said the former had gone astray but had come back home.
In a choked voice,Bhatt said he was heavily indebted to the BJP and wanted to pay back. I was with the BJP,I am with the BJP and I will remain with the BJP, he said, justifying his return to the party after six years of political wilderness.
Bhatt said that Modi had sent feelers to him through Salvadoran MP Ramakrishna Shula and asked about his well-being,which touched him strongly enough so as to forget all the differences he once had with the CM.
He said that during his six years outside the BJP,he had realised that his differences with Modi were of a trivial nature.
