The fifth edition of Rootz 2025, a three-day event showcasing plain and diamond-studded gold and silver jewellery being organised by the Surat Jewellery Manufacturer Association (SJMA) along with Surat Jewel Tech Foundation, was inaugurated by Mayor Daxesh Mavani at the International Convention cum Exhibition Hall at Sarsana in Surat on Saturday.

The SJMA also launched ‘SJMA 365 Global Connect’ on Saturday under which retail jewellers from across the country and abroad will be facilitated to visit Surat throughout the year.

SJMA office bearers, jewellery manufacturers from Gujarat and buyers from various parts of the country and abroad were present at the inaugural function.

Sources said that over 170 exhibitors, mainly from Surat, are showcasing lab-grown gold and silver diamonds, natural diamonds and plain jewellery to buyers during the three-day event.

The organisers had received online registrations from over 5,000 buyers, including those from Hong Kong, Canada and Dubai. Apart from jewellery, lab-grown diamonds and natural diamonds will also be exhibited. The SJMA has contacted the Jewellery retailer associations of different states and asked them to visit the show.

Rootz 2025 event chairman, Jayanti Savaliya, said, “With the rise in gold prices, this time we have also included jewellery with fewer carats. Some exhibitors are showcasing gold jewellery ranging from 9 carats to 14 carats. Besides this, ornaments suitable for daily wear, weddings, and other events have also been displayed. Buyers from India and abroad can view the jewellery and then place bookings with the exhibitors.”

“We have also launched SJMA 365 Global Connect, under which buyers from India and abroad will be invited to Surat throughout the year for business dealings and factory visits. The SJMA will bear the cost of accommodation and travel for the buyers. The buyers had to fill the registration form on our website. Our teams will verify the buyer’s details mentioned in the registration form and later invite them,” Savaliya said.
