Anil Mukim, one of Chief Minister Narendra Modis trusted bureaucrats, was appointed principal secretary of revenue department Tuesday, two months after being repatriated from the central deputation during which he worked as a joint secretary in the ministry of commerce and industry.
Mukim will replace D J Pandiyan, principal secretary at the energy and petrochemicals department who was holding the additional charge of revenue.

The 1985-batch IAS officer had defended Modi during his deposition before Nanavati Commission, saying that suspended IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt was not present at the February 27,2002,meeting called by CM.
