The Vadodara Congress unit has written a memorandum to Chief Minister Anandiben Patel demanding immediate evacuation of the Vadodara Municipal Commissioner from his bungalow on grounds that the Municipal Commissioner, Manish Bharadwaj, who lives in a “lavish bungalow” has been “inaccessible” to common people.

According to the memorandum, “When there is a dedicated officer’s colony why give these luxurious royal houses within Kamatibaug to the Municipal Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner.  The present Municipal Commissioner is generally not available in his office even during visiting hours, his house has a jail like security and is hardly approachable even to prominent citizens of the city for any grievances keep aside a common man.”

The Congress memo to the CM also demands that Bharadwaj should be instructed to open the public entry gate to Kamatibaug that has been closed on account of his “security” for several months. “At least common people should not face hardships due to closure of gate near the Narhari Hospital especially in view of ongoing work on the Narhari Hospital- Kalaghoda road. We demand that this gate should be opened with immediate effect,” the memo states.
