Cop suspended for planting bomb near HC gets regular bail

Justice Anant Dave of HC passed an order in this regard while considering several aspects including that Kureshi’s presence could be secured in the case for trial.

The Gujarat High Court (HC) Wednesday granted regular bail to suspended police inspector F M Kureshi in connection with a case registered against him for allegedly planting crude bombs near the HC,raising the scare and then “recovering” them to gain sympathy.

Justice Anant Dave of HC passed an order in this regard while considering several aspects including that Kureshi’s presence could be secured in the case for trial.

Kureshi was security in-charge of the HC when he was arrested by police in connection with an alleged rape case. During investigation,Ahmedabad City Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) officials discovered that Kureshi had planted the bombs near the HC and raised a scare and later he himself found the same.

DCB officials had registered a separate case against him in connection with the planting of bombs.
