The Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee will organise a protest demonstration on Tuesday, the birthday of Chief Minister Narendra Modi, asking him to ensure that the money spent on Sadbhavna event is returned to the state coffers. The demonstration will be held from 4 to 6 pm at the Income Tax Junction.
PCC president Arjun Modhwadia told reporters that Modi spent lavishly on Sadbhavna event in 2011,and the same money could have been spent on waiving fees of medical and engineering students. The way Modi has fooled people in the name of launching welfare scheme,he deserves a Nobel for circulating falsehoods!,he said.
Modi showed no sadbhavna to Sikh farmers of Kutch. He could have waived of minority student scholarships, but sought to take away Sikh farmers lands instead and appealed against scholarships to minorities, Modhwadia said. He alleged that though Modi government claimed to have spent Rs 15,000 crore on Vanbandhu Yojana,Rs 11,000 crore on Sagarkhedu Yojana and Rs 13,500 crore on welfare schemes for urban poor, actually he did not spend any money on these schemes.
