Opposition Congress, on Monday, staged walkout from the Assembly over the issue of a point of order raised by senior Congress leader and MLA from Abdasa, Shaktisinh Gohil, in connection with the recent ruckus created by Congress MLAs in the House.
Following the ruckus, Congress MLAs were suspended from the House and an FIR has been registered against certain Congress MLAs.
Gohil raised the point of order and started elaborating the same. Though, when Ganpat Vasava, the Speaker, said that it was not the practice to raise question related to an issue on which the Speaker had already pronounced an order.
Immediately thereafter, senior minister Nitin Patel also objected to the point of order.
Reacting to this, all the Congress MLAs present in the House had staged a walk out. Following this, Vasava had ordered to remove all the words spoken by Gohil on the point of order from record.
Before this, in the first sitting of the House, all Congress MLAs – except the Leader of Opposition Shankersinh Vaghela – had wore a black band on their face and remained silent through out the sitting. They also did not raise a single question during the Question Hour.
