Congress puts up Bhatt posters to counter CM

Huge posters with messages such as above along with Sanjiv Bhatt’s photos in police uniform sprung up across Surendranagar on Monday,creating a flutter in this small city of Saurashtra peninsula where Chief Minister Narendra Modi was holding his Sadhavana Mission.

The Congress,which observed a parallel Satkarm Upvass,claimed that the party came up with these posters only after permission from the suspended DIG.

“These posters have been used to create public awareness about 2002,role of CM and how an honest officer like Bhatt has been made to suffer for revealing truth,” said state Congress spokesperson Himanshu Vyas.

He said his party is likely to use such posters in future too. “We have used his statements given in newspapers. And we have taken his consent for the same,” he said.


Modi gifts Rs 2,660-cr projects to Surendranagar

Chief Minister Narendra Modi announced a Rs 2,660-crore development package for Surendranagar district during his Sadbhavana Mission fast held at Surendranagar on Monday even as local Congress leaders held a parallel Sakarm Upvass. Modi observed a day-long fast at Surendranagar Arts and Science College ground as part of second leg of Sadbhavana Mission. The CM promised that the entire Surendranagar district would be covered under the Sardar Sarovar Nigam Limited so that Narmada water reached all parts of the district. “I have given riverfront project to Ahmedabad. One has been announced for Rajkot city too. Similarly,the state government is interested in future to development of a front on Bhagaro river in Surendranagar,” Modi said.
