Both the Congress and the BJP candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in Panchmahals stand accused of violating the Model Code of Conduct.
The Election Commission is investigating into allegations that Congress candidate Shankersinh Vaghela has distributed cups with his pictures on it.
Elsewhere,his BJP counterpart Prabhatsinh Chauhan is in trouble for not providing information about his second wife in the poll affidavit,which was brought to light by the Congress unit of Godhra.
According to Electoral Nodal Officer G N Thakkar,the BJP unit in Godhra had filed a complaint that Union Minister and Congress candidate from Panchmahals,Shankersinh Vaghela,had distributed porcelain cups bearing his name and picture to the voters.

We received the complaint last night from the BJP Panchmahals unit. We are still investigating the issue, said Thakkar.
The BJP Panchmahals unit has alleged that the cups have been distributed not only to families,but also to the roadside tea vendors.
Chauhan on the other hand,has allegedly not stated the name of his second wife and two other sons in the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission,the officer said,adding,We are investigating the matter.
At present,there are five candidates contesting from Panchmahals,including Vaghela and Chauhan.
