The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday examined BJP general secretary Ramlal in connection with a purported sting operation related to Tulsi Prajapati encounter case in which party leaders were seen allegedly discussing ways to subvert the trial to save Amit Shah,a close aide to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
The CBI said that Ramlal was examined for nearly two hours at the agencys headquarters on the contents of a sting operation done by an independent journalist who allegedly caught on camera BJP leaders Prakash Javadekar,Bhupendra Yadav and Ramlal eight times during the period between July and November,2012.
It is alleged that the three leaders, during their conversations recorded by hidden a camera, discussed ways to subvert the trial in Prajapati encounter case by getting empty vakalatnamas (authorisation letter to the lawyer) signed by his mother which could be later used to put a dummy counsel for her during the trial.
