Builder claims Pakistani caller threatened him,cops begin probe

A city-based builder caught in a dispute over ownership of a piece of land in Thaltej-on the outskirts of Ahmedabad-has reported to the J P Road police station in Vadodara that he has been threatened by a caller in Pakistan to withdraw his case.

A city-based builder caught in a dispute over ownership of a piece of land in Thaltej — on the outskirts of Ahmedabad — has reported to the J P Road police station in Vadodara that he has been threatened by a caller in Pakistan to withdraw his case.

The police have taken a note of the incident and begun a probe in the case.

“The complainant,Arvind Jani,who is from Vadodara,is caught in a tussle over ownership of a plot of land in Thaltej of Ahmedabad. He has complained that some unidentified caller with a Pakistani number threatened him over the phone. He told Jani to take his case back. Jani has also stated in the complaint that Ahmedabad builder,Sandeep Zala,who is also staking a claim over the same piece of land,is involved in the matter.

Jani said the unidentified caller mentioned Zala’s name during the call made on the night of May 18 saying he was Zala’s friend,” added Police Sub Inspector K B Chawda.

The officer further said that Ahmedabad police have been notified about the case and that were no calls have been made after May 18.
