City constable booked for graft
AHMEDABAD: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials booked a police constable on Tuesday for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000. The constable,Narendra Lakhubha Gohil,is posted in Danilimda police station. One Mushtaq Ahmed of Bapunagar was reportedly served with the notice of being an extern. He wanted to get this notice cancelled from the concerned department of the city police. According to ACB officials,Gohil promised him that he would get it done if Ahmed gives him Rs 2 lakh. However,they decided to fix it for Rs 50,000. The police have booked him under the Prevention of Corruption Act and begun further investigations.
Guv to inaugurate new buildings in GU
Ahmedabad:Governor Kamla Beniwal will inaugurate more than a dozen buildings and parks on the Gujarat University campus on March 30,built at a total cost of Rs 60 crore. Besides,she will release Beyond Classroom,a two-volume sets of GUs flora and fauna and varsity’s diamond jubilee souvenir.
