Taking a serious view of allegations of mass copying by Class XII students at Jamkandorna examination centre in Rajkot, the examination committee has decided to summon all 2,176 candidates for a personal hearing.

Students from three schools had appeared for Class XII (general stream) exam under Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSB) at this centre.

Besides these students, the entire staff of the schools under this centre, examination co-ordinators,invigilators and supervisors along with evaluators will also be called for the hearing, due to take place after the results are announced.

An examination committee member said the results of all these students would be withheld by the Board till then.

After preliminary investigations, the committee has reportedly found that around 200 students were guilty of mass copying. However,as part of investigations, they will also be called for personal hearing before the Board.

Whether the students will be required to re-appear for the examinations will be decided after the personal hearing of each student.

Though there was no complaint of mass cheating from the centre,it was detected by chance when a large number of students were scoring marks more than 90 in four main subjects.
