A blast in a residential locality in Vadodaras Fatehpura area Monday morning created panic and damaged an underground concrete water tank where the bomb was hidden,though nobody was hurt. The low-intensity blast was caused by a device that appeared like a petrol bomb,but police were yet to ascertain its exact nature.
Police said they received a call from an unidentified person around 8 am that an explosion had taken place at the Ram Dwara ni Chali early morning. A police team arrived at the spot along with officials of the Forensic Science Laboratory to ascertain the cause of the blast.
The FSL team has collected two plastic bottles,a circuit wire and petrol found at the spot. Nobody was hurt due to the blast as it occurred inside a concrete water tank, police said. The concrete cover of the underground water tank broke into three pieces,they said.
No arrests have been made so far.
