Gujarat BJP chief Ranchhod Faldu on Sunday termed party rebels, who are being led by former Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel,as a thorn in the flesh and appealed to party workers to teach them a lesson by defeating them in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Some among us have recently strayed on to the wrong track. They have become a thorn in the flesh for the party. Keep a vigil on them and teach them a lesson by defeating them at booth-levels in elections, he said apparently referring to Keshubhai and other BJP dissidents.
They (the dissidents) will not be able to inflict any damage to the party but can cause irritation, Faldu said while addressing Vijay-Vishwas Sammelan,a meeting of party workers and supporters here.
This was first direct or indirect remarks by Faldu against Keshubai, who has announced to launch a third front along with MJP chief Gordhan Zadaphia.
This comes days after the partys mouthpiece warned the veteran party leader against crossing the line while indulging in anti-Narendra Modi tirade.
In an open letter in the party organ Manogat, editor of the magazine and state BJP treasurer Surendra Patel had warned revered Keshubhai against creating a Mahabharata-like situation wherein Arjuna had to fight his own elders like Dronacharya and Bhishma.
