Ahad Malek (23) from Hansot village,Bharuch district,has courted royalty. He is all set to play for last years champion Rajasthan Royals in this seasons Indian Premier League (IPL).
At present,Malek is playing in the Western Railway Time Shield Cricket Tournament. His family,while confirming the news,said they have received a verbal confirmation from Rajasthan Royals some 10 days ago.
His father Akhtar Malek told Newsline: We have received a verbal communication from Rajasthan Royals. We will receive a written contract in a few days.
This year,Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty and her business partner Raj Kundra bought a 12 per cent stake in Rajasthan Royals for 16.8 million dollars (about Rs 80.6 crore).

Just like his senior Munaf Patel,who belongs to Ikhar village in Bharuch,Malek has made his mark through his own efforts,said Imtiaz Pathan of Bharuch district Cricket Association. Malek comes from a very average family. His father is a farmer in Hansot village.
He added: We have received a verbal communiqué. The agents have asked us to wait for the contract. The annual contract with Rajathan Royals is around Rs 10 lakh.
He said that Malek,who is a middle-order batsman,represented Gujarat in a Ranji Trophy match last year where he scored 50 runs of 35 balls.
Besides,Malek is also known for his skills in wicket-keeping and fielding.
Malek works in the Railways and is very hard working. He has taken part in 20-20 matches in several states, said Pathan.
Malek,who is from M A Makuwala High School and has done his graduation from Bharuch Arts and Commerce College,will be arriving in Bharuch on February 22.
Sources said the contract will be sent to him prior to that.
