AMC plans Rs 27-crore project to tackle woes of drainage

To tackle the water sewerage and drainage problems in the newly developed areas,the AMC is planning new drainage pumping and water sewerage plants.

To tackle the water sewerage and drainage problems in the newly developed areas,the AMC is planning new drainage pumping and water sewerage plants. A new fire station will also be developed by the AMC in these areas. With a total cost of around Rs 27 crore,three proposals were given a nod in the standing committee meeting held on Friday.

A drainage pumping station with an estimated cost of Rs 13.58 crore would be developed at Hathijan falling under Ramol ward in the east zone,an AMC official said. Another water project worth Rs 4.01 crore will come up at Chandlodia. The newly developed area of Thaltej will also have a fire station with an estimated cost of Rs 9.1 crore.
