A six-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by the security guard, who allegedly inserted an iron rod into her private parts, at Sola underbridge in Ahmedabad on Friday.
The victim was playing at the construction site where the 24-year-old accused, identified as Kaushal Anilsingh Chauhan, a native of Uttar Pradesh, has been working as security guard for a private pharmaceutical company. The girl’s father, a native of Jhabua in MP, works as a labourer at the site.
Inspector B V Gohil said, “The accused inserted an iron rod in the girl’s private part, seriously injuring her. He called the girl near him and took her to the basement of the building and assaulted her.
The girl, heavily bleeding, came struggling to the spot where her parents were working. She told her parents that the security guard assaulted her. He did not rape her, but inserted the rod in her private part.”
The parents called the police control room and Sola police rushed to the spot. The girl was rushed to Sola civil hospital. As per the statement of the victim’s father, the security guard went back to his duty and was sitting at the gate when the labourers formed a group and went to inquire with him. When the labourers started shouting why he assaulted the victim, he reportedly fled from there.
However, before he could flee from the area, a team of Sola police arrested him and the accused confessed to the crime.
Inspector Gohil added, “He told us that the girl’s father had picked up a fight with him, along with a few other labourers, a few days back over construction work. He wanted to teach him a lesson. He has been booked under the new laws of rape under Section 375 (D) of the IPC and also POCSO since the girl is a minor.”
