Terming the state government Budget as “disappointing”’, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said that the state government had created a provision of 66,000 jobs in budget 2016-17 while the number of unemployed youths registered in state’s employment exchanges was over eight lakh.
AAP media coordinator Harshil Nayak said it was not clear whether 66,000 persons to be appointed would be given permanent jobs and paid salaries as per recommendations of the sixth pay panel or would be contractual employees getting only Rs 4,500 per month remuneration.
Regarding allocation of Rs 9,050 crore for Narmada canal scheme, he said that the amount was neither sufficient to construct 53,000 km of Narmada canal to take Narmada dam water to fields nor it was sufficient to maintain the existing canals.
