Now the French will get a peek into the making of Gujarat CM Narendra Modi as a biography Narendra Modi – in India – Leader and Man of Convictions written by French national Chantal Ardino hits the stands. While the book was launched during a recent India festival in France,a video made during the launch has made its way on several social media sites. Apparently, yoga brought Ardino to India in the early 80s and she has since then remained a steadfast visitor here with over 15 visits and has even embraced Hinduism. Modis biography, which she intends to translate into English soon,is priced at 18 Euros (Rs1,392.1) and runs into 340 pages. Ardinos penchant for the CM is evident as she has written on her website,Faith puts in my path people who whet my curiosity talking about their lives, the changes they have experienced in recent years and a name that comes up all the time ….Narendra Modi… apparently loved or hated, but that leaves no one indifferent.
The last-minute action
Probationer IPS officer Chaitanya Mandlik ruffled a few feathers in police and political circles of Rajkot when he caught a local BJP leader on the wrong foot twice in the last week. First,he busted a gambling den on the farm of Vallabh Makwana,a BJP member of Rajkot taluka panchayat. The officer followed it up with a raid on a godown allegedly on another farm of Makwana on July 4 and seized liquor worth Rs 1 crore. But before he could catch hold of the politician, his three-month probation with Rajkot rural police expired on July 7.
Radadiya ripples in Rajkot
BJP MP from Porbandar Vitthal Radadiya created ripples as he paid a sudden visit to Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) on Monday while local stalwarts Vijay Rupani and Dhansukh Bhanderi are away holidaying in South Africa. The MP made a courtesy call on the mayor and then met the municipal commissioner. While many see this entry in RMC as Radadiya developing interest in Rajkot ahead of the Lok Sabha polls next year,a top civic official said,The MP had come to make a representation about a building coming up near a girls hostel in the city run by a Leuva Patel trust. Radadiya, himself a Leuva Patel, runs a number of educational institutes.
