That adds up to a total of 71,000 people already vaccinated in the area,as on Monday, nearly 56,000 people were vaccinated. With this, the health department has surpassed its target of 60,000 for completing the largest Hepatitis B vaccination drive ever in the world.
Meanwhile, the family members of all the 148 affected people will be brought to the Public Health Centre in Modasa for vaccination on Thursday, said the Chief District Health Officer (CDHO) of Sabarkantha,HS Patel.
We are planning to bring all the family members to the health centre in our department vehicles. We will also give the bus fare to people who want to travel by bus,as it is not advisable to take the vaccine to the villages. The vaccine has to be stored at a temperature of 8 degree Celsius or it will be damaged, Patel added.
