As many as seven candidates from Ahmedabad branch were among the top 50 list of the candidates having passed the CA final May 2013 exams. The results were declared Tuesday.
One of them Ashutosh Agarwal grabbed the fourth all India rank by securing 575 marks,with Krishna Teja Gandhi (563 marks) winning 11th rank,Hemali Shah (560) obtaining 13th rank and Priya Maheshwari(558) 15th rank. Three others among the top 50 include Jitesh Vinodkumar Golani (543) securing 26th rank,Nuikunj Murlimanohar Devpura (530) holding 38th rank and Sanket Suresh Agrawal(523) bagging 45th rank.
A commerce graduate from H L Institute of Commerce here,Asutosh Agarwal cleared CA final exams in the first attempt. After the results,21-year-old Agarwal said,There is no short-cut to success. You have to work hard.
Agarwal had attended coaching classes run by Ahmedabad branch of ICAI. His batch-mate Himali Shah said,We need to fix our goal and then begin working to achieve that. This philosophy helped me achieve my target to clear CA exams.
Candidates from the Ahmedabad branch of Western India Regional Council (WIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India(ICAI) also fared much better in Common Proficiency Test (CPT),the entry level test to pursue chartered accountancy course.
Against all India pass percentage of 27.02 in CPT exams held in June this year,Ahmedabad branchs result was 33.13 per cent. Out of a total of 3,272 students from Ahmedabad branch taking CPT June 2013 examinations,1,084 students were successful.
Addressing mediapersons jointly,ICAIs Ahmedabad branch chairman Purushottam Khandelwal and secretary Satyendra Jha said the reason for better performance of their branch was the good coaching facilities.
