A VHP leader in Surat has filed a complaint over an Instagram video against three unknown persons for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.

In his complaint at the Sachin GIDC police station filed Thursday night, VHP leader Fenil Dudhwala mentioned he saw the clip when it was shared on the VHP-Bajrang Dal WhatsApp group on Tuesday.

Sachin GIDC police inspector JR Chaudhary told The Indian Express, “We have registered a complaint and initiated a probe. In the video, three youths can be seen making communal remarks against the Hindu religion. At present, these accused have not been identified. We are taking the help of the technical staff to identify them. We hope to nab them soon.” The youth also made abusive comments against the cow, as per the FIR, to hurt religious sentiments of Hindus.

The video was said to be shared by VHP member Raj Dubey on the Whatsapp group. Fenil said he filed the complaint after informing Surat VHP president Nilesh Akbari.
