3 bodies found from railway tracks,police suspect mass suicide

In what appears to be a case of mass suicide,bodies of a man,a woman and a child were found on the railway tracks in the city outskirts in the early hours of Friday.

In what appears to be a case of mass suicide,bodies of a man,a woman and a child were found on the railway tracks in the city outskirts in the early hours of Friday.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the bodies are of

Dinesh Gohil,a resident of Bhavnagar,Nayna Raijada,a resident of Dwarka in Jamnagar district and her one-year-old daughter.

The police said Dinesh was also married and a father of three children.

“The bodies have been found from the tracks. They committed suicide by jumping in front of the intercity train running between Bhavnagar and Surendranagar,” said an official of the Bhavnagar police.

The police added that Nayna had come from Dwarka to

Morchand village in Ghogha taluka of Bhavagar to attend her brother’s marriage scheduled for February 15.

Her husband Vanrajsinh and the couple’s son and daughter had also come along with her to attend the marriage.

Investigations revealed that following a quarrel with her mother,Nayna left the place with her daughter.

On the other hand,the police said,Dinesh had left his place early in the morning in his Scorpion car on the pretext of going out of station.

While Dinesh’s family members do not rule out the possibility of murder,the police maintained that preliminary investigations indicated it to be a case of suicide.

“The postmortem reports are awaited. But it appears to be a case of mass suicide,” said the police.

Investigation has revealed that there existed a feud between the families of Dinesh and Nayna,and it had caused the Nayna’s family to shift from Bhavnagar and settle down in the village.

On the other hand,the maternal family members of Nayna said that they are clueless as to what led her take the step.
