13,500 students awarded degrees as MSU marks its 73rd annual convocation

The convocation was presided over by Chancellor Shubhaginiraje Gaekwad, the matriarch of the Gaekwad royal family.

The 73rd annual convocation of Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU), Vadodara, was held on Sunday, with 13,500 students being awarded degrees and 325 gold medals conferred upon 195 of them.

Naisargi Raval, a resident MD from the Faculty of Medicine, bagged the highest number of gold medals (17) while Mukesh Kumavat from the Faculty of Technology and Engineering earned nine gold medals.

Speaking about her achievement, Dr Raval said, “I have been a University topper even during my MBBS and bagged the first rank in Gujarat for NEET for post-graduation besides an All-India Rank of 4… I come from a family of doctors and my entire family has encouraged me to achieve this feat.”
