1 kg charas seized in Ahmedabad, two arrested

The Ahmedabad Crime Branch seized 1 kg charas from two people near Kalupur metro station, said the officials, adding that both accused were arrested.

The police officials, based on a tip-off, caught the two accused identified as Rauf Raees Qureshi and Mohammad Wasim Abrar Hussain Kidwai near Kalupur metro station.

The accused were found in possession of 1.138 kg of charas worth Rs1,70,700, said the police. The two accused, both residents of Uttar Pradesh, were booked under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Meanwhile, an investigation was also started to nab one Salman, resident of Gomtipur area, who was supposed to be the alleged recipient of the seized drugs.
