The residents of Sunny Enclave, Sector 125, Mohali, Monday formed a new Resident Welfare Association (RWA) and staged a project against Bajwa Developers and the Kharar Municipal Council of neglect and failure to provide even basic amenities.

The residents gathered at Buddha Park for a peaceful protest. This comes after the drinking water crisis in the society worsened over weeks. Residents alleged that the “developers have failed to provide even basic facilities, especially drinking water”. They said they are relying on expensive water tankers and calling the situation “unbearable”.
The residents demanded that the Kharar Municipal Council immediately take over the area’s management to ensure reliable water supply, sanitation and essential civic services.
Residents unanimously elected a new RWA body. Harbans Singh Sidhu was named president, while press secretary Sunil Kumar announced other appointments: Onkardeep Singh Toor as general secretary; Sukhdev Singh, M R Singh Mehta and Dalbir Singh as vice-presidents; Mahinderpal Singh as secretary; and Harpreet Singh as joint secretary. Rajinder Sharma, Sanjeev Watts and Rajneesh Kaushal were appointed chief organisers. Ravi Narang and Satvinder Singh will serve as cashiers, while Harpreet Singh Gujral, Shesh Pal and Antar Singh Brar will act as chief legal advisors.
