The Ministry of Railways has expedited the development of the super app to provide one-stop facilities related to Indian Railways and it may be released for the public soon, said a senior official.
The official further said that in the first phase, the app will be offering services for reserved tickets, unreserved and platform tickets, train enquiries, PNR enquiry, allow ordering food on board, Rail Madad (a help and grievance platform) and freight-related enquiries.
“Centre For Railway Information Systems (CRIS), on behalf of the Ministry of Railways, is developing a SuperApp to provide a single platform for all public-facing applications of Indian Railways. This app will combine the various services offered by Indian Railways, which are currently on disparate mobile apps, onto a single user interface and provides seamless navigation,” said the official quoted above.
Officials said that special emphasis has been placed on enhancing both the user interface and user experience. “It may be launched by January next year,” said the senior railway official.
Key features of upcoming Railway super app
The Indian Railways SuperApp will offer the following key services.
Single-Sign-On: Users will be able to access all services through single credentials. Moreover, the same credentials will be used across existing apps of Indian Railways like IRCTC RailConnect, UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) Mobile App etc.
All-in-One App: Currently, there are different apps available for reserved and unreserved booking. Apart from this, to check the details of the train movement or schedule, a separate app needs to be downloaded. All these services will now be accessible through a unified app.

Integrated Services: Officials said that the integration of services is being carried out to deliver comprehensive information from multiple sources in a cohesive and unified manner.
For example, PNR enquiry will also display associated train information.
Easy Onboarding/Sign-Up: Users will also get the facility to use their existing RailConnect or UTS App credential to get onboarded on SuperApp.
Ease of Login: Multiple login options have been provided to enhance user experience. Once logged-in, the app can be subsequently accessed either through mPIN or biometric authentication.
