Notice not related to Chhattisgarh, CM Raman Singh never travelled by helicopter: Govt

The regulator said a Bell 407 helicopter with VT-KSA registration number was hired from King Rotors and Air Charter by the state government to be used for police action in Naxal areas.

The Chattisgarh government has clarified that the helicopter by which Chief Minister Raman Singh travels is an official helicopter with a double engine and is tested on all technical parameters of safety.

Director, Aviation Department Rajat Kumar informed the CM has never travelled by the helicopter belonging to King Rotors Company to either Aurangabad or Nagpur.

“The notice issued by King Rotor Company in February 2015 is not at all related to Chhattisgarh…. the  government has hired for this company’s services from July 2015 but before that there was no association as such,” an official statement clarified. On Thursday, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said the government has been utilising an aircraft hired for police operations to ferry Singh, a surprise check has revealed.
