Amid market crash & recovery, FPIs pull out Rs 18,109 crore so far in June

After investing Rs 6,850 crore on June 3 — after the exit poll results were announced — foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) were big sellers in the stock market in the next four days amid the fall and rise in stocks in the wake of the unexpected poll outcome.

Foreign investors have taken out Rs 18,109 crore from the cash market (excluding IPO investments) in the month of June so far, according to exchange data. On the other hand, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) have net purchased Rs 6,864 crore of equities so far in June.
