Trump on Apple Company Expansion in India: US President Donald Trump said he has told Apple CEO Tim Cook that he does not want the company to expand its manufacturing operations in India, unless it is to cater specifically to its domestic market. He also claimed that India has “offered to drop all tariffs” on the United States.

“I had a little problem with Tim Cook yesterday. I said, ‘Tim you’re my friend, I’ve treated you very good, you’re coming here (in the US) with a $500 billion announcement, and now I hear you’re building all over India. I don’t want you building in India. You can build in India if you want to take care of India, because India is one of the highest tariff nations in the world’… ‘we put up with all the plants you built in China for years. We are not interested in you building in India. India can take care of themselves’,” Trump said after a meeting between business leaders from the US and Qatar.
