Leading automakers have announced a price cut across products following excise duty reduction announced in the interim Budget.
Tata Motors on Friday announced cut in prices by up to Rs 1.5 lakh across its range of vehicles. The price reduction across passenger vehicles is in the range of Rs 6,300 to Rs 69,000, depending on the model, while the cut in commercial vehicles portfolio is in the range of Rs 15,000 to Rs 1,50,000, Tata Motors said in a statement.
The company’s passenger vehicle portfolio comprises models from entry level hatchback Nano to multi utility vehicle Aria.
Ford India too on Friday announced reduction in the prices of its vehicles by up to Rs 1.07 lakh across various models. The reductions will be applicable across Ford Figo, Ford Classic, Ford EcoSport, Ford Fiesta and the Ford Endeavour.
Prices of hatchback Ford Figo have been reduced up to Rs 23,399, while that of Ford Classic up to Rs 24,056, the company said. The prices of compact sports utility vehicle Ford EcoSport have been reduced up to Rs 25,947. Ford Fiesta and Ford Endeavour will offer benefits up to Rs 32,961 and Rs 1,06,753 respectively, the company said.
Among two-wheeler makers, TVS Motor Company announced a price reduction by up to Rs 3,500 across its product portfolio following excise duty reduction announced in the interim Budget. Yamaha too announced a price cut by up to Rs 3000.
