Online healthcare company Practo has acquired seven-year-old Insta Health Solutions, a hospital management solution provider, for $12 million. Founded by Ramesh Emami, ex-CTO at Wipro Technologies, Insta Health will operate as a separate division in all the 15 countries it is present.

“This is one of the largest acquisitions in the digital healthcare space in India. We are very excited to have them as a part of our fold. We can make inroads to many more hospitals now, we already have 10,000 hospitals on board. We will be able to provide integration with hospitals for customers to have better experience visiting hospitals,” said Shashank ND, founder, Practo.

This is Practo’s third acquisition post FitHo and Genii earlier this year. It has raised a total of $125 million in three rounds of funding. In August it raised $90 million from investors such as Russian billionaire Yuri Milner, Tencent — makers of WeChat, Belgium’s Sofina, Google Capital, Altimeter Capital, Sequoia Capital and Matrix Partners.  FE
