Business in India is very profitable,say Dutch firms

More than half of Dutch firms rated their business here as profitable or very profitable: survey

More than half of the Dutch companies have rated their business in India as either profitable or very profitable,says a survey.

Moreover,75 per cent of respondents expect an increase in turnover in coming years. Of this,approximately 50 per cent expect more than 15 per cent rise in turnover,it said.

Over 50 per cent of Dutch companies rate their business in India as either profitable or very profitable,Gerlach Jacobs,leader of the Dutch Business Delegation to India from Netherlands,said in a foreword published in a booklet called ‘Netherlands Economic Mission to India’.

“India is on top of our list. There are signs that Europe is getting out of the crisis and consumers there are optimistic. The portfolio of companies have improved,but crisis persists. We have a long-term view on the Indian economy. Many production facilities could be set up in India,” Netherlands Ambassador Alphonsus Stoelinga,who heads the economic mission to India,said.

Stoelinga,accompanied by a delegation of 30 companies from diverse sectors,is on a visit to India in order to explore possibilities of economic and commercial tie-ups.

Netherlands has proposed centre of excellence (COE) in Karnataka,Maharashtra and Gujarat,Stoelinga said,adding that his country is in the process of implementing these COEs as well as creating a group of companies to engage with the Indian firms.

With regard to Gujarat,”the two COEs proposed are in animal health and horticulture,” he said.
