The Reserve Bank of India will release its annual monetary policy statement for the 2009/10 fiscal year (April/March) on April 21.
“The presentation will be made at a meeting of the chief executives of major scheduled commercial banks at 11 a.m. on that day,” it said in a statement on Friday.
The Reserve Bank of India releases its monetary policy review in the months on April,July,October and January.
It can change policy outside the scheduled monetary policy reviews,and often does. It has cut its key lending rate by 400 points in five moves since October 20,but left it unchanged at its reviews in October and January.
