Dealers said besides increased dollar selling by exporters,a higher opening in domestic equity market and euro’s gain against the American currency helped the rupee to recover.
The rupee had lost 12 paise to close at 11-month lows of 56.50 against the US dollar in previous session on Friday, amid worries over current account deficit and GDP growth.
Meanwhile, the BSE benchmark index Sensex recovered by 99.89 points,or 0.50 per cent,to 19,860.19 in early trade.
