Tata-owned British Luxury car marque, Land Rover, has launched the Range Rover LWB Autobiography Black Edition in India. Prices start at a whopping Rs. 3.75 crore for diesel version, and rise to Rs. 3.83 crore for petrol in ex-showroom, Mumbai. The Autobiography Black will sit atop all the Range Rover series models sold in India currently. Also, with its new price-tag, the Range Rover LWB Autobiography Black is the most expensive SUV you can buy in the country today!
Land Rover launched the LWB (long wheelbase) derivative of its flagship Range Rover in India at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. The new Autobiography Black edition that has been launched now adds more equipment and creature-comfort in the vehicle.
The Range Rover LWB Autobiography Black offers an increased legroom of 186mm for the second row, and features an executive seating package, which can recline the captain seats to 17 degrees as opposed to the nine degree reclining seats on the standard model. On the inside, customers get a re-designed extended center console with electrically deployable leather tables, integrated USB charging sockets, a 10.2-inch screen, enhanced stowage and bespoke ambient lighting.
Additionally, the new version comes with massaging functionality for front seats while the driver seat offers 18-way articulation. At the back, the rear seats has seat reclining ability and lumbar massage. To pamper the occupants further, passengers at rear bench get calf rest and a leather-wrapped parcel shelf.
Aesthetically, enhancements are rather subtle. As a distinguishing factor, the Autobiography Black version sports high-gloss, 7-spoke, 21- or 22-inch alloy wheels, unique finish on side vents and front grille, chrome garnish on tail-gate and black enamel polished badges. Customers get to choose from three exclusive exterior colour combinations, namely, Ebony/Lunar, Espresso/Tan and Dark Cherry/Ivory.
On mechanical front, the Range Rover LWB Autobiography Black has a 339PS/740Nm producing 4.4-litre SDV8 diesel engine and a 510PS/635Nm 5.0-litre supercharged petrol V8 unit on offer. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
