Honda adds a CNG variant to Amaze

Honda has added all the essential components to make it compatible for sustaining CNG as fuel.

After ringing the cash registers of Honda in both its petrol and diesel avatars, the compact sedan Amaze will now also be available in a CNG-ready version. The lineup of Amaze now includes one variant, 1.2 S MT, which can take both petrol and diesel as fuel.

Talking about the changes in the CNG version of Amaze over the regular bread-and-butter petrol one, Honda has added all the essential components to make it compatible for sustaining CNG as fuel.

Apart from it, Honda has also revised the wiring harness and modified the suspension setup slightly to take on the additional weight of the CNG kit. Honda has chosen not to make any additional changes on the exterior design and interior layout of the Amaze CNG.

On the inside, this CNG variant is bestowed with all the features which can be found in its corresponding petrol variant, S MT, such as 2-DIN music system compatible to USB and Aux-in, steering mounted audio controls, key-less entry, driver seat height adjuster, electrically adjustable ORVMs and wheel caps.

Honda has priced the CNG Amaze 1.2 S MT Plus at Rs. 6.54 lakh, which includes the base price of Rs. 5.99 lakh for the CNG-ready car and Rs. 54,315 for the CNG kit, including the installation charges. The car will come with a standard warranty of 2 years.

On the inclusion of the new CNG variant in the Amaze’s lineup, Jnaneswar Sen, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India, commented, “At HCIL, we constantly work towards enhancing customer experience through our products and services.
