Fiat launches Avventura at Rs. 5.99 lakh
Fiat has priced the Avventura aggressively at a starting price of Rs. 5.99 lakh for the base petrol model (Active variant), which goes all the way up to Rs. 8.17 lakh for the top end diesel model (Emotion variant).
The Avventura showcases FIAT’s commitment to India to produce cars designed for India and manufactured for India.
Fiat India has launched the much- awaited compact crossover, Avventura. Tagged as a Contemporary Urban Vehicle (CUV) by Fiat, the new Avventura is a pumped up version of it’s premium hatchback, Punto Evo. The new Avventura features a host of new features and design cues which separate it from the Punto Evo and gives it a rugged SUV feel. Fiat has priced the Avventura aggressively at a starting price of Rs. 5.99 lakh for the base petrol model (Active variant), which goes all the way up to Rs. 8.17 lakh for the top end diesel model (Emotion variant).
The new design philosophy that the Avventura carries puts it in the category of compact crossovers based on their hatchback counterparts, such as Volkswagen Cross Polo, Toyota Etios Cross and soon to be launched Hyundai Elite i20 Cross. On the outside, the new car features black body cladding on all sides, skid plates on front and rear bumper, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, aluminium roof rails, increased ground clearance of 205mm, 16-inch alloy wheels (standard on all variants) and tailgate mounted spare wheel with cover.
On stepping inside, one could find three exclusive dials mounted in the middle of the dashboard above the center console, which houses compass and clinometers. The car also gets leatherette seats and leatherette inserts on door-pads. Apart form these, the dashboard layout and equipment level of the Avventura, including the music system and two-stage airbags, mirrors that of the Punto Evo.
Under the hood, the new Fiat Avventura gets the same two engine options which the Punto Evo is bolstered with. The petrol variants are powered by the 1.4 liter FIRE engine, which belts out 90PS of power and 115Nm of torque, while the diesel engine is the familiar 1.3 liter Multijet engine, which churns out 93PS of power and 209Nm of torque. While the diesel Avventura is available in three variants (Active, Dynamic and Emotion), the petrol Avventura can be fetched in only two variants (Active and Dynamic). The ARAI fuel efficiency claims are 14.4km/l for the petrol version and 20.5 km/l for the diesel version.
Commenting on the launch of this new car, Nagesh Basavanhalli, President and MD, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, India Operations said, “We are thrilled to launch Avventura, India’s first Contemporary Urban Vehicle (CUV), a lifestyle product which is specially designed for someone who is continuously in search of enthusiasm.
