Suzuki has lifted off the covers from its new 150cc motorcycle, the Gixxer SF.
Essentially a fully faired version of the 155cc naked streetfighter Gixxer, the Gixxer SF will be available in three colors – MotoGP inspired Triton Blue, Glass Sparkle Black and Pearl Mirage White – prices of which start at Rs. 83,439 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Gixxer SF comes with a proper full fairing at the front, which incorporates the same headlamp which is present on the Gixxer.
Apart from the front fairing, the rest of the body panels, including fuel tank, side and rear body cowls, split pillion grab rails and the front and rear fenders have been borrowed from the Gixxer.
Other bits which have been carried over from the Gixxer include the fully digital instrument console, switchgear and the LED tail lamp.
Under the skin, the Gixxer SF is the same machine as the Gixxer, with no substantial power or torque upgrade to the four-stroke, single cylinder, air cooled, 155cc engine.
Paired to a five speed gearbox, the engine pumps out 14.8PS of maximum power and 14Nm of maximum torque. Suzuki promises better top speed stability and enhanced dynamics on the Gixxer SF due to the addition of full fairing at the front.
Other mechanical components of the Gixxer SF, such as 41mm telescopic forks at the front, seven-step adjustable monoshock at the rear, front disc brake and rear drum brake too are shared with its naked counterpart, Gixxer.
The other minute cosmetic changes on the Gixxer SF as compared to the Gixxer are clear lens turn indicators, red stitching on the single piece seat and aluminium cover for the exhaust muffler.
Positioned above the GS150R and Gixxer, the Gixxer SF now becomes the flagship 150cc motorcycle in Suzuki’s portfolio for the Indian market.
