Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister M Vijay Bahuguna and eight other rebel MLAs of the Congress joined the BJP on Wednesday. The fate of these MLAs were in lurch after Congress won the floor test in Uttarakhand assembly.
"I heard the CM's statement where he is levelling serious allegations against the press person, against his background... If that journalist is so corrupt, why did he (Rawat) fly in a helicopter to meet him," he asked.
Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh wants hill states like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh to get benefits of a central government's policy,which enables various state governments to divert forest land up to five hectares for carrying out certain development activities like road construction in the 82 Naxal-affected districts.
