Commenting on India's achievement in the healthcare sector, Venkaiah Naidu said the biggest challenge was building a comprehensive healthcare system amid a huge disparity between urban and rural areas.
Sikkim's Chief Secretary A K Shrivastava held a coordination meeting yesterday to discuss the detailed agenda of the vice-president's scheduled visit to the state, the Information and Public Relations Department (IPR) said in a release.
Naidu said, the initial amount of Rs 500 crore from the central government and additional Rs 500 crore by the local body make only Rs 1000 crore which cannot do much for a smart city. And that is why the Union government has planned to develop smart cities on the public-private partnership.
While welcoming the new Rajya Sabha chairman, Sanjay Raut said Naidu joined politics as a student leader, then went on to head the BJP's student wing and has today returned to head a "class with members like me as its students".
