The Grand Alliance saw the recent additions of Upendra Kushwaha’s RLSP and EBC leader Mukesh Sahni’s Vikasshil Insaan Party. Former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (S) has already been part of it.
Tejashwi Yadav said despite BJP winning 22 of the 30 Lok Sabha seats it contested in 2014, the party agreed to give an equal number of seats to Nitish Kumar's JD(U), who had returned with a tally of only two seats.
As Kushwaha joined the Congress-RJD-led “mahagathbandhan” at the AICC headquarters in the presence of Congress’s Ahmed Patel, RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, Sharad Yadav and Jitan Ram Manjhi, top leaders of the BJP held talks with Union minister Paswan and his son Chirag Paswan.
Lalan Paswan said: “We are with NDA. Since all legislators are not with Kushwaha and one MP Arun Kumar had also rebelled long ago, we are the original RLSP. We will also go to EC with the claim of being original RLSP.”
