Umar Akmal is now eligible to resume his cricket career after the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) on Friday reduced his suspension to 12 months and imposed a fine of 42.50 lakh Pakistani Rupees for breaching the Anti-Corruption Code.

Kamran Akmal said in the past players had been banned for short terms of three to six months and even had their fines reduced for the same offence but in Umar's case the PCB is not even satisfied with the 18 months ban on him.
