DCC clears backhaul satellite connectivity via VSAT for telecom services; Rs 19,041 cr BharatNet tender: DoT Secy

Telecom Secretary Anshu Prakash said that DCC has also cleared the Request for Proposal for rollout of BharatNet project for broadband services in villages in 16 states in public private partnership mode with viability gap funding of Rs 19,041 cr.

An official, who was part of the meeting, said that the Telecom Commission has approved the installation of around 12.5 lakh WiFi hotspot in all gram panchayats with viability gap funding of around Rs 6,000 crore by December 2018.
