Kanhaiya's bail plea hearing deferred till Feb 29

New Delhi, Feb 24 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Wednesday deferred the hearing on the bail plea of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Students' Union president Kanhaiya Kumar to February 29. Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Shailendra Babbar informed that Kanhaiya’s remand will be sought. Reiterating similar statement, another SPP Anil Soni said the court has directed to hold Kanhaiya’s next hearing at an undisclosed location, in view of his security and safety.

New Delhi, Feb 23 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar's bail plea, seeking status report from the Delhi Police prosecutor. Divulging details on the matter, special public prosecutor of Delhi Police Shailendra Babbar said there are certain facts that they want to submit to the court and therefore a day's time has been granted. He added that there are enough evidence to prove Kanhaiya guilty.

Mumbai, Feb 12 (ANI): Narrating the revelations made by 26/11 convict David Coleman Headley, Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam on Friday said the former conducted a recce of Mumbai's Siddhivinayak temple and asked LeT not to attack the shrine as it was heavily guarded. Nikam said that Headley was asked by Major Iqbal to recruit people from Baba Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in order to collect confidential information from there. The Special Public Prosecutor said Headley had also purchased sacred threads from Siddhivinayak temple, which could be used by the attackers to blend among the Hindus. Nikam said that Headley also had links with the Al-Qaeda, which was not known to his handlers in the LeT.

Mumbai, Feb 11 (ANI): Giving a statement after Headley’s deposition, Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam on Thursday said the LeT’s involvement in the 26/11 terror attack is the most important thing that has been divulged in the case so far. Nikam said Lakhvi is the operating commander, Hafiz is the founder and they have three wings that are finance, naval and women wings. Nikam further added that he named and identified Ishrat Jahan as the suicide bomber after recollecting from the list of names given by Nikam himself. He stated that Headley said the attacks that had been carried out in India after getting instructions from Pakistan.

Nikam said that Headley had worked with a smuggler to send weapons to India. He added that now it is clear that there is a close nexus between the ISI and the Lashkar-e-Taiba, as per the revelations by Headley.
